Abstract
An essay is presented on the incongruent public representations of U.S. Army Private First Class (Pfc.) Jessica Lynch who serves as an emblem of nationalism and a just war in Iraq. The case of Lynch is said have a significant impact to argumentation as what she comes to be in the public sphere emerges from visual imagery. It also offers a brief discussion of heretical rhetoric to illustrate the arguments regarding Lynch.
