Abstract
Dr. Hrabowski discussed the important connection between language skills and mathematics skills in education. Educators need to inspire students to be motivated, and excel at their reading skills to do well in math and science. He talked about how standardized tests show that students know certain things and that mastery of concepts is the foundation for going forward, building confidences in themselves over time and establishing a belief system that they are capable of success in math and science. The way we think about ourselves, our thoughts, words, actions and values will make our destinies.
