Abstract
In the keynote address Dr. McPhail advocates that we reconsider how we respond to the symbolic violence that contributes to the disintegration of the American dream and pathologies of the American mind. He considers race as a social sickness that demands we rethink the problems and possibilities of pedagogy as we now understand, envision and enact on it.
