Abstract
Green chemistry principles were used to research a catalytic system that may be effective for amidation, a popular bond-forming reaction used in the pharmaceutical industry. A benchmark reaction was used to test various additives on the boric-acid-based catalytic system developed previously in the Boisvert lab. The optimized catalytic system was then tested on various sets of substrates and on larger scale.
